This page maps the in-game input labels to what you actually use them for while sorting the library.

| Move | Walk Forward, Walk Backward, Walk Left, Walk Right | Basic library navigation. |
| Run | Run | Hold after unlocking the Run permit from the Emerald Club chest. |
| Jump | High Jump | Use after opening the Crimson Octagon chest. |
| Pick up / interact | Action / Pickup | Pick up books, use objects, and interact with shelves/chests. |
| Drop a book | Drop Book | Put down the held book or stack when checking a row. |
| Reorder held books | Reorder | Change held-book order before shelving a same-title row. |
| Book list | Expand / Close Book List | Open or close the held-book list so you can inspect the current stack. |
| Abilities | Ability 1-5, Ability List | Use active magic after it is unlocked; avoid these on Anti-Magic Master attempts. |
| Zoom | Zoom, Zoom In / Out | Inspect shelf labels, books, and distant objects. |
| Menus | Confirm, Menu, Cancel / Back | Navigate UI, settings, and confirmation prompts. |
| Camera | Move Up / Down, Rotate | Adjust view while navigating and inspecting shelf rows. |
Practical Tips
Section titled “Practical Tips”- Learn Reorder early. Correct shelf section is not enough if a same-title row is out of order.
- Keep the book list open when carrying a large stack so you can avoid mixing titles.
- Use active ability buttons freely on a normal clear, but avoid active major magic on Anti-Magic Master.
- The Run permit and High Jump come from key chests; see Keys and Unlocks before route planning.
